What's Covered in This Guide
If you have ever shown up at Tim Hortons craving a Farmer's Wrap only to find out they already switched to the lunch menu, you know how frustrating that is. This guide covers exactly when Tim Hortons starts serving breakfast, when they stop, and which items you can still grab after noon.
We checked with dozens of Tim Hortons locations across Ontario, Alberta, BC, and Quebec to put together the most accurate breakfast schedule for 2026. Here is what we found.

What Time Does Tim Hortons Serve Breakfast?
At most Canadian Tim Hortons locations, breakfast starts between 5:00 AM and 6:00 AM and runs until 12:00 PM. After noon, hot breakfast items are taken off the menu and the kitchen switches to lunch. Here is the day-by-day breakdown:
| Day | Starts | Full Menu Ends | Bakery Until |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monday | 5:00 AM | 12:00 PM | Close |
| Tuesday | 5:00 AM | 12:00 PM | Close |
| Wednesday | 5:00 AM | 12:00 PM | Close |
| Thursday | 5:00 AM | 12:00 PM | Close |
| Friday | 5:00 AM | 12:00 PM | Close |
| Saturday | 6:00 AM | 12:00 PM | Close |
| Sunday | 6:00 AM | 12:00 PM | Close |
Times may vary at hospital, airport, and mall locations. 24-hour drive-thru locations may start breakfast earlier. You can always verify through the Tim Hortons website or their app.

Does Tim Hortons Have All Day Breakfast?
This is the most common question we get, and the answer is: partially. Tim Hortons does not serve a full all-day breakfast — you cannot get egg sandwiches or hashbrowns at 3 PM. But a solid chunk of the breakfast menu stays available all day because these items do not require the breakfast grill.
Here is what you can order at any time the store is open:
Available All Day
So does Tims have all day breakfast? In a way, yes — if you are fine with bakery items and coffee. But if you specifically want a hot breakfast sandwich with a freshly cracked egg, you need to be there before noon. Check the full list of breakfast items with prices on our Tim Hortons Breakfast menu page.
When Does Tims Stop Serving Breakfast?
Tim Hortons stops serving hot breakfast at 12:00 PM at most locations. The following items are morning-only because they are made on the breakfast grill:
Only Until 12:00 PM
Tim Hortons breakfast sandwiches are made with freshly cracked Canadian eggs. Once the grill switches to lunch around noon, those items are done for the day. There is no getting around it — if you want a hot breakfast at Tims, you need to plan your visit accordingly.
One more thing worth knowing: hashbrowns tend to run out faster than sandwiches at busy locations. If you are set on hashbrowns, aim for before 10:00 AM.
The 11 AM – 12 PM Overlap Window
Lunch items at Tim Hortons — including the Crispy Chicken Sandwich, Loaded Wraps, flatbread pizzas, soups, and chili — become available starting at 11:00 AM. Since breakfast does not end until noon, there is a full hour where both menus are live at the same time.
That means between 11:00 AM and 12:00 PM, you can order a breakfast sandwich and a bowl of chili in the same order. It is a useful window if you are with someone who wants breakfast while you are already thinking about lunch.
Before 11 AM
Breakfast only
11 AM – 12 PM
Both menus
After 12 PM
Lunch + bakery only

Weekend and Holiday Breakfast Hours
On Saturdays and Sundays, most Tim Hortons locations open one hour later — at 6:00 AM instead of 5:00 AM. The breakfast cutoff stays the same at noon. Some smaller-town and mall locations might not open until 7:00 AM on weekends.
For holidays, here is what to expect:
- Canada Day, Thanksgiving, New Year's Day—Most locations open with reduced hours
- Christmas Eve—Typically shorter hours, closing early afternoon
- Christmas Day—Many locations closed, some open with limited hours
- Family Day, Victoria Day, Labour Day—Most stores open with regular or slightly reduced hours
When in doubt, use the Tim Hortons app before heading out. It shows real-time store hours, including holiday schedules for your specific location.
How to Check Breakfast Hours Near You
Tim Hortons has over 4,000 locations across Canada, and since most are independently run franchises, hours can vary a bit from store to store. Here are three ways to check:
Tim Hortons App
Select your nearest location, choose pickup or drive-thru, and check the menu. If breakfast items show up, they are being served right now.
timhortons.ca Store Locator
Look up your local restaurant for posted hours, amenities, and contact information.
Delivery Apps
Uber Eats, DoorDash, and SkipTheDishes show real-time menus. If breakfast is on the list, the store is serving it.

Best Time to Visit Tim Hortons for Breakfast
Not all times are created equal. If you want the freshest food with the shortest wait, here is what we recommend based on typical traffic patterns:
| Time | What to Expect |
|---|---|
| 5:00 – 6:30 AM | Quietest period. Freshest food, almost no wait. Great for early risers. |
| 6:30 – 9:00 AM | Peak morning rush. Expect lines at the drive-thru, especially in cities like Toronto, Calgary, and Ottawa. |
| 9:00 – 11:00 AM | The sweet spot. Rush has died down but the full breakfast menu is still on. |
| 11:00 AM – Noon | Last chance for hot breakfast. Both breakfast and lunch menus overlap during this hour. |
One final tip: if you are ordering through the Tim Hortons app for pickup, you can place the order during the overlap window and pick it up a few minutes later — even if it is slightly past noon. The app locks in your order based on when you placed it, not when you pick it up.
